Level I Infrared Thermography Training
The Level I Infrared Thermography Training Course is designed for new infrared camera users and provides a comprehensive introduction to thermal imaging, temperature measurement, and thermography applications for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. No previous thermography experience or infrared camera is required.
Participants learn how to properly operate infrared cameras, collect quality thermal data, obtain accurate temperature measurements, interpret thermograms, and account for measurement factors such as distance and emissivity. The course also covers heat transfer concepts, infrared inspection reporting, and practical field applications that simulate real-world thermography tasks.
Students who complete all training requirements and successfully submit a required thermography field assignment receive a Level I Infrared Thermography Certification and wallet ID card.

ITC certification is positioned as a gold-standard qualification within the thermography industry and exceeds the requirements of international infrared certification standards.
Infrared Thermography Certification
ITC Infrared Thermography Certification verifies that a certified thermographer understands how to:
• Operate an infrared camera
• Collect quality thermal data
• Produce professional infrared inspection reports

To earn ITC thermography certification, students must attend an infrared certification and training course, pass closed-book examinations and quizzes, and complete a field assignment demonstrating their understanding of thermography applications and proper infrared camera use.
ITC offers three levels of certification, with opportunities to maintain and advance certification through continuing education and additional training.
Certification Standards — North & South America
ITC Infrared Certification Courses meet or exceed ASNT SNT-TC-1A guidelines. Both Level I and Level II certification training are accredited by NETA (International Electrical Testing Association), an accredited standards developer for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
ITC is ISO 9001 certified and emphasizes practical camera operation and application knowledge before certification. ITC also has extensive ASNT Level III thermal and infrared-certified staff.
ITC Latin America operates under the ITC Eurasia certification scheme for ISO 18436.
Certification Standards — Eurasia
ITC maintains ISO 9001 certification for the training, education, and certification of professional users of infrared systems in Sweden, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, and Boston. The ITC licensed partner in Romania is also ISO 9001 certified.
